I don't know why I'm not doing the things that I'm supposed to be doing in life, but one of the biggies was supposed to be going to donut shops and reviewing donuts and coffee. Alas, I've forgotten this task and my life seems to be missing something... Mainly, donuts.
Today I've visited Cider Belly Donuts on N. Pearl St. in Albany, NY. Their niche is to make all their donuts with the cider donut as the base. If the first donut (The Original Cinnamon) is any indication, I've done myself a disservice by not visiting sooner. It is light and not overly cinnamon-ny --which can be an issue. There is a slight subtle crust and a chewy inside. A fine first impression.
I'm happy to be doing what I was put on Earth to do... Eat donuts and be critical of people and places. No critique here (not yet... Still eleven donuts to go!). But I'm fairly confident to recommend Cider Belly without hesitation. If I change my mind, I'll update soon.
When visiting the New York State capital, be sure to stop in Cider Belly Doughnuts 25 N. Pearl St. Albany, NY.
